While in the area ...

Saratoga is a wonderful vacation destination. We loved this area so much we made it our honeymoon destination some 20 years ago.  There is so much to do other than golf.  However, there are several other golf courses in the area that are very enjoyable.

The Saratoga Spa Golf Course is a 27 hole premier public course within the

.  You will find that the greens fees are reasonable and the par 3 has a par of 29.  You can play that in about an hour and three quarters.

The Saratoga Spa State Park also offers the Lincoln Bathhouse and the Children’s Museum.  There are so many other amenities offered at the park, including their popular concerts.  Be sure to check out their web site on the parks.ny.gov web site.

A hidden gem golf course in the area is Saratoga Lake Golf Course. It’s a favorite amongst the locals and a great stop when you are visiting in the area. You will find an assortment of different hole layouts. The forward tee yardage is 5113 with a slope and rating of 71.5/127 (for women) Par 72.  Put it on your list when you are in the area.

The Saratoga Springs area has a wide assortment of housing options.  You will find everything from beautifully appointed Victorian homes now used as Bed and Breakfasts to upscale hotels such as the Saratoga Casino Hotel situated on the grounds of the harness racing venue.  The casino hotel was built in phases and the hotel itself opened in 2016 and is adjacent to the hotel casino.  If you happen to stay at the hotel, you will find Morton’s Steakhouse.  They have a great Happy Hour. As the name suggests, there is also a casino in the complex.  The casino was a small building when we started visiting Saratoga but has grown in both size and patronage.

Saratoga has so many activities to enjoy, including boating and water sports, hiking, shopping, and of course dining.  We have friends that live in the area and have been giving us a tour of local restaurants.  A favorite spot for us is Chianti Ristorante in the downtown area.  You can find any type of cuisine your heart desires in Saratoga. We love to go out for breakfast and have found the Country Corner Café to offer a homemade breakfast in a quaint little place.  The service is friendly and prices are reasonable!

In conclusion, if you get a chance to visit this beautiful area, put it on your Autumn bucket list.
